Our Vision for Delaware
Learn more about where I stand on the issues and what I’ll fight for as your representative.
Good Government
I believe that our government needs to work for the people, not corporations, special interests and political insiders. As your state representative, I will fight for:
-
Increased transparency, accountability, and equity in state government
-
An independent, nonpartisan Inspector General’s Office that can investigate waste, abuse, and mismanagement in our government
-
Campaign finance reforms that ensure people – not wealthy corporate interests – are deciding our elections
-
Expanded voting rights with a constitutional amendment to guarantee no-excuse absentee voting, so that everyone has the option to vote by mail
-
Increased support for state workers so that our public servants can thrive, not struggle to survive
-
Increased accessibility and transparency for the public to participate in the legislative process
Youth & Education
As a mother, I am constantly promoting education as a tool for advancement in life. Every student deserves a safe, equitable, and nurturing environment to learn and grow. As your state representative, I will fight for:
-
Universal free school meals for all students
-
Equitable and complete school funding so that our students and teachers receive the resources they need to succeed
-
Expanded youth apprenticeships
-
Programs that teach our youth life skills they need to transition into adulthood
Health Care & Mental Health
I have spent 25 years working in the health care and mental health space. While we’ve made progress, we still have a long way to go in Delaware. As your state representative, I will fight for:
-
Increased mental health supports in our public schools, higher education, and community spaces
-
Universal access to affordable mental health care
-
Lower healthcare and prescription costs across the board
-
A statewide public option to lower marketplace insurance costs and increase access to coverage
Protecting Our Rights
I strongly support the right for everyone to make decisions about their own body and healthcare. As your state representative, I will fight for:
-
Expanded access to reproductive healthcare and supporting community providers to ensure they are well-resources
-
Increased protections for patients fleeing restrictive laws in other states and seeking healthcare in Delaware
-
Expanded protections for LGBTQ+ children and adults
-
A constitutional amendment protecting abortion rights
-
Expanded access to affordable childcare and flexibility to balance work and family
Sustainable Development & Environment
When talking with neighbors, one of the biggest concerns I often hear is around road construction and unsustainable development. Too often there are delays, lacking communications, dust going into our homes, or very little effort to engage the community. I believe everyone has the right to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment. As your state representative, I will fight for:
-
Meaningfully involving the public in transportation planning and construction through building strong local relationships, listening and responding to feedback, proactively reaching out, and documenting and sharing the community's impact on decisions
-
Stopping unsustainable development that harms public health and safety
-
Environmental justice so that the impacts of development do not harm our most vulnerable communities
-
Transition Delaware to a Green State by investing in wind/solar projects, adding composting facilities, and expanding our electric vehicle infrastructure
Housing
Everyone has the right to safe, affordable housing. But too many Delawareans are facing rising costs that make it difficult to own or rent a home. As your state representative, I will fight for:
-
Sustainable development of affordable housing. Right now, we are 23,000 units short of affordable housing, and we must take this seriously by making the investments needed to address this crisis
-
Stabilizing rising rents by implementing caps on rent increases
-
Expanding assistance for homeowners that will help them stay in their homes in a crisis
-
Protecting rights and expanding resources for individuals experiencing homelessness
Public Safety & Criminal Justice Reform
Our neighborhoods should be a safe place to work and play. We need to address the root causes of crime and ensure our police do not have to enter situations that mental health providers or social workers would be better equipped to handle. As your state representative, I will fight for:
-
Expanding resources for mental health and substance abuse treatment
-
Meaningful, common sense, probation reform so that those trying to get back on their feet and reintegrate into the community to not get sent back to prison for minor issues beyond their control
-
Supporting deescalation in police interactions by expanding support from other first responders, like mental health professionals, who are better equipped to handle certain incidents
-
Increasing police transparency and accountability
